The Board o Trustees is the ocial governing body o the Houston Community College District. TheBoard is composed o nine members who are elected rom single-member districts and who servewithout pay. Board members are elected to staggered six-year terms. The Board has nal authority todetermine and interpret the policies that govern the District.As part o their duties, the Trustees maintain a ull schedule o community service, public appearances,speaking engagements, and legislative aairs on behal o the District. Board members represent animpressive mix o individual talents and proessional backgrounds, enabling them to provide governanceo the highest quality.
