KEYNOTES:

BETTER FROM THE STRETCH
: Keys starter Tim Berry has actually pitched better this season with runners on-base than he has with the bases empty, workingfrom the wind up. Batters are hitting a .309 clip against Berry when he
s in thewindup, but their average drops to .254 once he moves to the stretch. He
s also beeneffective holding runners on, as only seven of 16 base-stealers that have run againsthim reached their destination safely.
FUTURE STARS
: The Keys
left-handed pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez and Carolina
sshortstop Francisco Lindor were selected to play in the Sirius XM All-Star Futuresgame on July 14 at Citi Field in New York City. Both players were named to theWorld roster, Rodriguez representing Venezuela and Lindor representing PuertoRico. Rodriguez is 6-4 with a 2.85 ERA this season and Lindor, who will play in theFutures Game for the second year in a row, is hitting .307 with 83 hits and 18 steals.
G
ONE FISHIN’
: The Keys should have been happy to visit the Mudcats this week, after going 5-1 against the fish in the first half. Frederick swept Carolina in Zebulonin early May after taking two of three from the Mudcats in April, though the Mudcatswon the first two ames of this series before the Kes rallied to win esterda.
