County Executive Congratulates Nursing Home ExecutiveDirector on New Job
 Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy has sadly accepted the resignation of Albany CountyNursing Home Executive Director Gene
Larrabee who has accepted the Executive Director’s
position at Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester.
“Gene has put our residents first since he came to the nursing home in 2007,” said
McCoy
.
Hiswork has helped our facility and its employees achieve and maintain a 4 star staffing rating fromthe CMS 5 star quality rating system. Gene has done this while cultivating a supportiveresidential environment and saved the taxpayers millions of dollars over the last six years. Our 
loss is Rochester’s
gain. I congratulate him on being selected to head a 566 bed long-term care
facility. We wish him well and will miss him.”
 
“I am thankful and have appreciated being able to serve Albany County over the years,” saidLarrabee. “It took much soul searchi
ng and thought to make my decision. This is an
opportunity I couldn’t pass up
.
 
“Over the last six months, we have lost some of our most critical employees due to theindecision surrounding the fate of the nursing home,” continued McCoy.
The County Executive has proposed a lease agreement with Upstate Service Group to run thenursing home. Albany County is currently losing one million dollars a month by operating it.McCoy has developed a succession plan and will announce it in the coming days.###
