A church where God is honoured andwhere individual people are valued
This is already a key point in our church vision and included into our visionstatement, but how do we teach people the difference between “honour”and “respect”?
Many people believe that these two are the same.
A person is honoured
because of their position, or something they havedone, or who they are.
A person is respected
because they have proved over a considerableperiod of time, that they can be trusted, work well, and are worthy of respect.
Respect is earned
, honour is not.
In Jesus Christ
we give both honour and respect –because He deservesboth.
