Ayurvedic (Agnihotra) Ghee Preparation: Preparing ghee for Agnihotra is a simple process and one can easily make it in ones own home. The procedure to be followed is as below -
1. The ghee is prepared from Cows milk. 2. Take the cow milk in a kitchen vessel and heat it slowly on your stove or heater. 3. Allow the milk to cool in the same vessel without keeping any lid. One may use a net to cover it if 4. Necessary. 5. After a few hours a layer of cream will appear on the surface of the milk. 6. Remove this layer using a spoon and collect it in a separate jar. 7. Add a little curd to this cream in the jar. 8. Allow the mixture to stand still. 9. After about a day the cream in the jar would convert into curd. 10. Repeat the procedure up to point no. 5 daily by adding cream to the same jar. There is no need to a daily; the cream added daily keeps converting to curd. 11. After about a weeks time when sufficient amount (500 ml to 1 litre) of curd is collected, churn the thoroughly in a mixer or with a handheld portable churner. (The vessel used for churning should be sufficiently big to take all the curd and about as much water by volume) 12. Add water to this and keep churning till butter starts separating on the surface of the liquid. 13. Carefully collect the soft butter from the surface and put it in a frying pan, 14. While doing this try to keep the liquid from coming in the frying pan. If some liquid does carry ov frying 15. Pan you can separate it by squeezing the butter with the open palm of one hand and tilting the pan other to 16. Drain as much liquid as possible.
17. Wash this butter with water and drain away the water completely as before. Repeat this washing on 18. Heat the butter over slow fire. Continue heating for a few minutes to ensure all the water content ev You can judge this by the colour of the ghee, which becomes golden and the boiling stops. 19. The Ghee is ready. Allow it to cool and filter it through a fine strainer. Store in a dry jar with a lid. Second Method: My own as I find it easier:
Collect the cream by skimming boiled and cooled Cow milk daily and keep in the Refrigerator and when Sufficient put in a pan and heat slowly stirring continuously till ghee separates and you get
clear liquid and a light biscuit coloured residue in the bottom(Do not let it burn)cool and strain yo pure cow Ghee is ready.(You can use the residue for making Ladoo, Burfi and other sweets or Make Khoya Matar (Very delicious and my favourite) I am giving below some scientific studies conducted on Agnihotra: Bacteriostatic Effect
In a series of experiments conducted by a group of microbiologists & pathologists under the guidance of Dr Mondkar and Shri.Y.B. Sohoni the behaviour of microflora was studied in the atmosphere generated by Ag was observed that the Agnihotra atmosphere was markedly bacteriostatic. In it more than 96% growth of ba inhibited. Agnihotra atmosphere acted as a shield in which bacteria, especially the pathogenic types were no grow. In another set of trials conducted in the polluted slums, similar results were noted. It was observed th definite reduction in aerial micro flora after performing Agnihotra. Agnihotra Ash: Agnihotra ash and its resultant atmosphere are being employed as useful in Ecological-Farming practices. Hundreds of farmers are regularly practicing Agnihotra farming methods. The fruits, vegetables and grains grown by this method are qualitatively better in texture,
taste and size as Compared to controlled farms where regular use of pesticides and fertilizers is done. Agni atmosphere Induces rapid seed germination. Agnihotra ash is an effective fertilizer and helps in Releasing soluble phosphate from the soil.
Kirlian Photographs of human hand 10 minutes before and 10 minutes after Agnihotra. Afte Agnihotra photograph Showed increased energy with healing effect.
Kirlian photographs of living Spearmint plant before Agnihotra showed 'red surrounding' m aggressiveness. After Agnihotra photographs showed 'blue surrounding' meaning relaxation.
At the defence institute of physiology and allied sciences (DIPAS) New Delhi, Dr. Selvamurthy (Sr. Scient the physiological effects of Agnihotra on the human mind and body. It was observed that during the perform Agnihotra, the heart rate showed a declining trend, body temperature was raised, GSR

PRELIMINARY STUDIES ON THE EFFECT OF HOMA FARMING ON THE YIELD AND INCIDENC SPOT, MYCOSPHAERELLA BRASSICICOLA IN CABBAGE Cv. QUESTO N. Selvaraj, B. Ramraj, N. Seenivasan and K. Shoba Horticultural Research Station, Vijayanagaram, Ooty-643001 The by product of Homa farming called Agnihotra ash, is obtained by burning dry cow
It was believed that adoption of homa farming in agricultural field completely sterilized the environment an field from pathogens.
Hence, an experiment was conducted to study the effect of foliar spraying of Agnihotra ash (200 gram of A in 1 litre cow urine kept for three days for fermentation and dissolved in 10 litre of water) for the management of leaf spot caused by Mycosphaerella Brassicicola on Cabbage cv. Questo during the 2001-202 at horticultural Research Station, Ooty, Nilgiris of Tamil Nadu.
The treatments comprised of spraying of Agnihotra ash 5 times at 10 days interval, spraying mancozeb 0.2% 10 days Interval and untreated control.
The results revealed that foliar application of Agnihotra ash has increased the yield of Cabbage by 38.8% A the leaf Spot by 70.6% OVER untreated control.
