SUBTITLE L. UPSFF SUPPLEMENTAL ALLOCATION
Sec. 4XXX. Short title.
This subtitle may be cited as the “
UPSFF Supplemental Allocation Act
Sec. 4XXX. Uniform Per Student Funding Formula.
The Uniform Per Student Funding Formula for Public Schools and Public Charter Schools Act of 1998, effective March 26, 1999 (D.C. Law 12-207; D.C. Official Code § 38-2901
) is amended by inserting a new section 106a to read as follows:
“Sec. 106a. Additional supplements to foundation le
In addition to the supplemental allocations as set forth in section 106, beginning inschool year 2013-2014, an additional supplemental allocation shall be provided for students whoare currently identified as eligible for free and reduced meals.
The supplemental allocation shall be calculated by applying a weighting to thefoundation level as follows:Level/Program Definition Weighting Per PupilSupplementalFARM Students who are currentlyidentified as eligible for free andreduced meals.06 $558
“(c) Funds allocated pursuant to this section shall be
distributed directly to individualschools based on the projected count of students eligible for free and reduced meals.
“(d) By October 1, 2013, and each October 1 thereafter, each l
ocal education agency shallsubmit a report to the Mayor outlining with particularity how the supplemental funds allocated pursuant to this section are being used to narrow the achievement gap as it relates to reading and
math between students eligible for free and reduced meals and those who are not.”
