I know that summer calendars fill up morequickly than a fat kideats cake, so I wantto remind everyoneabout upcomingevents. On Tuesday May 19,the Jaycees will behosting a family bikeride through town,starting from the 5thAvenue BeachHouse. This is part of Healthy ManisteeWeek--HAM it upy'all! More informationwill be forthcoming,but it's going to be awonderful activity for the entire family.

On Friday May 29, theJaycees will be sponsoringan ethnic progressivedinner on Manistee's NorthSide. Beginning at thehome of Amanda Clemonsand ending at JessicaStege's hot tub party, thisevent will feature differentdishes from around theglobe.Relay for Life is quicklyapproaching (July 23 &24). If you haven't alreadysigned up to be a teammember, please visit thewebsite:www.manisteejaycees.orgfor more information.Remember, you don'thave to walk toparticipate--peopleworking as fundraiser are just as important.Finally, I just want tosay how wonderful itwas to spend a rainySunday afternoon witha group of Jaycees atStriketown! Scheduled to fall on the 4th of July this year, Aquapalooza is the ManisteJaycee's largest fundraiser. As the committee works to put the finishingtouches on advertising, you should be aware that contracts have alreadygone out. Brotherstomp and Powerplay will be providing entertainment thiyear. In an exciting change of format, there will be continuous music allnight because both bands are using the same set up. Because Aquapalooza is such a big fundraiser, it's important to have lotsvolunteers. Jaycee volunteers will be recruited and scheduled towards thmiddle of June. Start planning on attending today so you can be sure tohave your calendars clear! See you on July 4

Easter Egg Hunt
The 9th Annual Easter Egg Hunt was one of the most successful ever. Serving more than450 children, and raising more than $150dollars in donations, we should be proud of what the Jaycees are accomplishing in thecommunity.

Although outside participation was at an all timehigh (thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Stege and Steve),Jaycee participation was rather skimpy. Makesure as you plan out your family calendar for next year that you mark the date! The 10thannual Egg Hunt will occur on Saturday April3rd. Thanks again to Jessica for organizing this eventand putting in TONS of man hours gather donations, stuffing eggs, making signs, sortingeggs, and writing thank you cards.Thanks also to Denise and Chad Folkersma for hosting egg stuffing, to all those who showedup to stuff eggs (especially those who brought grapes :) ), and to Erin, Amanda, Jessica andLexi for representing the Jaycees on the day of the hunt.The Jaycee family bowl event at Striketown was SOOO much fun. Attended by more than15 people it was full of laughs, turkeys, and gutter balls! Of course some very importantawards were given away.
