EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Jan 2009 – Present

RF Team leader
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx UMTS Networks Optimization
xxxxxxxx / America movil UMTS Project Phase III
- Negotiate new nodeBs for this Phase of the project.
- In charge of develop the Final acceptance protocol test.
- In charge of manage schedules and resources for this Phase of the project.
- Monitor the network checking the most important KPIs (accessibility,
retainability, usage, throughput, congestion) and suggest change request to
improve the quality of the whole network.
- Make daily and weekly reports for the client showing the advance of the project
and the network quality.

Dec 2007 –January 2009

RF-Engineer
xxxxxxxxxxxxx UMTS Networks Optimization
xxxxxxxxxxx America movil UMTS Project Phase I & II
- Site verification after Node-B installation, including RF Hardware like antennas
and feeders, checking that complies with the installation standards; using
Anritsu’s Site Master. Test services (CS services, PS services and HSDPA).
Test onsite that all parameters (P-SC, LAC, RAC, CELLID, etc) were as
planned.
- In charge of the Drive test team, and equipments. Drive test route
recommendation. Checking for missing neighbours and swap feeders,
recommending antenna tilting and orientation changes.
- Responsible for the optimization of UTRAN: CS, PS and HSDPA services.
(HSDPA code resource distribution, configuration of HS-PDSCH codes
according to traffic model, protection timer for HSDPA when moving,
configuration of maximum HSDPA users per cell and Node-B).
- Responsible of data analysis on problem areas such as call drops, missing
neighbor analysis and call setup failure by analyzing layer messages (AS and
NAS messages) on drivetest log files and RNC trace log files to improve
network performance. Analyze RANAP, NBAP protocols.
- Tune Inter-Radio Access Technology (IRAT) 3G-2G Handover and vice versa,
neighbor relation to improve accessibility and retainability for voice, video and
packet services.
- Perform MML commands in order to configure all the changes
recommendations in the RNC.
- Daily surveillance of KPI's statistic from the OSS (M2000), giving the necessary
change recommendations on each weekly report. Check counters that involves
all the interfaces of the UTRAN (Uu, Iub, Iu-cs, Iu-ps). Analyze congestion
situations (channel elements, transmission resources, etc)
- Monitoring the radio environment in order to find unwanted interference sources,
using a Tektronix NetTek analyzer.

Aug 2008
RF-Engineer
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx UMTS Networks Optimization
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx / Millicom UMTS Project
- Data analysis from the drive test log files, making the necessary changes to
improve the network quality. Evaluates and analyzes Pilot Coverage, CPICH
RSCP, CPICH Ec/Io, Pilot Pollution, Accessibility, Retainability and Mobility for
Voice, CS 64, PS Services and also HSDPA’s BLER and Throughput,
recommends modifications to enhance KPI’s.
- Analysis of the RTWP information, making the necessary works for finding the
interference source.
- In charge of the Drive test team, and equipments.

April 2006 – Nov 2007

RF-Engineer
xxxxxxxx Technology Design and Planning
xxxxxxxxxx
- Use the Planet tool in order to predict coverage of new sites.
- Create work orders for data-fill implementation. Analyzed mobile's data
transmission and characteristics. Improve capacity and performance of cell
sites utilizing Base Radio configurations and additions. Improve site, cluster,
system performance changing antenna type/design and RF-field changeable
parameters. I performed general optimization procedures to improve
performance (KPI) numbers: drop rate, blocked rate, etc.
- Installation, Operation and monitoring of the signal scanning equipment
available in the area (Anritsu Spectrum Analyzer)
- Make the analysis of co-channel frequencies and control the interference
agreed with the objectives of the area to obtain better signal quality
- Optimize the network checking the site configuration, making logical
configurations and making the neighbors lists for the new stations

Mar 2005 – Nov 2005

Wireless – Engineer Analyses
