A Message rom Christine Quinn:
This all New Yorkers will be aced with the critical choice o who will leadour city as mayor or the next our years. This election is about who has the ability to bring people together to helpthe middle class and those aspiring to reach it. It’s about who is best ableto make our city an even greater place to live and work — to start a career, raise and amily and, hopeully, grow old. It’s about who understands theproblems o all New Yorkers and who has the know-how, the energy, thetoughness, the vision and the compassion to make a dierence. This is about whether a little girl growing up anywhere in the ve boroughswill have a good school to go to, whether she’ll have clean air to breatheand healthy ood to eat. Whether her parents will be able to nd a good jobthat pays a middle-class salary, and an apartment they can aord. Whetherthe streets will be sae enough or her to play on.This is the task ahead o us. Our city is headed in the right direction. Wecannot roll back the clock. We need to keep moving orward. But we needto do a better job ensuring that all New Yorkers benet rom the gainswe’ve made, that the middle class can aord to stay in this city, and thatthe least ortunate among us get the help they need each and every day. That’s who I’m ghting or.This book outlines many o my ideas or how to make our city a place oeven greater opportunity, and I’ll be releasing even more ideas in theweeks ahead. It also lists many o the results I’ve delivered or New Yorkersthroughout my career in government. Because the greatest indication owhat someone will be able to achieve can be ound in what they’vealready accomplished.New Yorkers work every day to get things done. They deserve no less romtheir mayor. That’s why I’m running. That’s what this election is about. And I hope to spend every day o the next our years delivering or thoseNew Yorkers, working with them side by side to make our great cityeven greater.
