Our reference: 568561 Dear Mr. Slaughter MP Thank you for your request for information which was received on 17 June 2013. Your request In response to the Panorama programme last week dealing with the Councils misuse of traffic cameras, two pages were taken up in the Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle attempting to rebut those allegations. Would you remind me of the cost of this? At the same time a leaflet containing the same information was delivered to every household (it appears). Why was it necessary to replicate this information and what was the full cost of producing and distributing his leaflet? Was any other money spent on this exercise? Our response This request is being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I can confirm that the information requested is held by Hammersmith and Fulham. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you. 85,000 copies of the leaflet were distributed. The costs of that distribution are set out below, including staff time (design). Our distribution company (Letterbox) was not able to logistically separate out areas where the Chronicle is not distributed, given the nature of the Chronicle distribution (which is more targeted at specific households within roads rather than defined areas). The decision to distribute borough-wide took account of the fact that the Chronicle has recently reduced distribution across the borough, meaning that more than half of H&F households no longer receive the paper. The costs are set out below. Design (staff time) Chronicle double page spread 275 A5 leaflet conversion 292.50 Print (distribution to 85,000 homes) 3,515 Distribution 4,050 Total 8,032.50
