Digipaks are usually used for CD singles or special

edition CD albums and typically consist of a gatefold style, much like a book. The digipak is usually made out of cardboard and consists of plastic holders for the CDs. The rest of the digipak will either have images, text about the CD or lyrics of the songs that are featured on the CD. It is used to almost give the CD a USP by adding value to it, encouraging potential customers to buy it. The design of the digipak is most likely to be consistent throughout and will follow the theme of the single or the genre and brand of the artist. This is used to create awareness of the artist and the music which helps to promote them and encourages more sales.
