move closer to edge of mat, bend knees, move feet/lower legs off mat, holdat scapula/shoulder girdle, raise head/shoulders off mat, place feet flat on floor,hands in lap.

Instruct pt. in steps OTA will follow for sliding board transfer –
Lean pt. away fromW/C, slide board under buttocks, lean forward against shoulder, rock 2-3 times,slide along board into chair, lean away from mat, remove board, replace armrest, position pt. in sitting.

Ask pt. for permission to perform transfer.

Lean pt. away from W/C with pt’s head under your arm closest to mat (furthestfrom W/C) while blocking pts’ knees/legs from sliding forward

Slide transfer board (beveled side up)under pts’ buttocks/upper thigh withoutcausing discomfort while other end of board rests on W/C seat

Lean pt. forward against OTA’s shoulder (furthest from w/c), rock 2-3 times andslide along board towards w/c. Repeat 2-3 x as needed until pt. is on w/c seat.Perform without lifting pt.

Lean pt. away from mat and remove sliding board from under buttocks

Sit pt. up, leaning against back of w/c while OTA replaces armrest andfootrests/legrests
