Internet enhances students’ reading, writing and speaking abilityThe title of this paper is “Internet enhances students’ reading, writing and speaking ability”. Themain aims of this research are to share experiences in overcoming problems in learning Englishand to raise issues on the roles of Internet in English learning assistance. In this paper howInformation technology such as internet can help a great deal both teacher and students inEnglish learning will be discussed. The setting of the learning process is at Sekolah TinggiPariwisata Bandung, Indonesia (Tourism Institution of Bandung). The teaching technique used in benefiting the internet was by giving essay assignment to the students for oral presentation.There are three main problems encountered by the students of Tourism Institution of Bandung)which will be discussed in this paper, first is the ability of reading, second is writing and the lastis speaking.To overcome those problems the students were assigned to make essay for oral presentation. Oneof the techniques used by the students to gather information was to find information on relatedmaterials for the students’ topic for presentation from the internet websites besides readingliterature.The findings of the research are 1) the students’ ability of reading, writing and speaking has beenimproved. 2) Internet assists a great deal in teaching and learning process at our institution.To recommend the future benefits of internet, I insist the Tourism institution of Bandung to broaden the internet facilities and the Tourism Institution students to constantly use the internetfacilities.Acep UR. 08.
