Breast cancer treatment often leaves women withlimited range of motion, lack of energy, and a needto feel in control and normal again. Recognizing this, the After Breast Cancer program was started 10 yearsago at the Cool Springs YMCA and has since grownto serve several other locations. It is now centralizedat the Maryland Farms facility.Better known as the ABC Program, it has servedhundreds of women in Middle Tennessee, addressingthe “mind, body, spirit” issues that are a part of theYMCA motto. Funded by the annual We Build Peoplegiving campaign, the program is free of charge to allparticipants.Physical therapists who are also specialists inlymphedema — swelling of the arm that is a commonside effect of cancer treatment — are available toprovide education on the prevention and treatment

The existing salesnumbers are improvingby and large. Newhome sales are still notgreat, but that is fromthe massively excessivespeculative constructionbuilders engaged in until2005. Realtors from allparts of the country areback in the game. Thatmeans realtors are seeingmultiple sales and more offers on theirlistings. Most of the real estate business iscoming in the lower price homes. They
might be distressed property or from rsttime home buyers. Of course rst time
home buyers are entering the market withlow interest rates, attractive prices and
the $8,000 tax credit from the stimulus
package. Forecast in the real estate marketis for prices to continue to lag. The realestate market should be on theupswing before the economyfull recovers, but as forecastthe prices might not reboundthis year. Therefore, potentialbuyers need to be aware thatthe window is closing and whensales begin to rise, so will theprices of homes. Most professional in the realestate business believe that theprice issue will linger on. Onereason for this is because somebuyers are not yet convincedthat the bottom is here. But buyersbeware……the dynamics of the real
estate market can quickly turn. So don’t
be a buyer who is in danger of watchingthe train leave the station. If you have any questions or needinformation on buying or selling a homein this market or would like to know whatyour home is worth, please contact meat 615.495.9934 or via email at Karen@AvenueRealEstate.com.

The line between indoorsand outdoors continues toblur as many of us want totake our indoor comfortsand solitude outdoors… Thisprocess is becoming morerealistic as many manufacturers of home products, develop more andmore appliances, furniture, lightingand accessories that can be usedindoors or out.
People are driven to nd peaceful
sanctuaries as a prescription forour stressful lives. Outdoor patiosand porches are becoming more
sophisticated and rened and are
becoming a living extension of theindoor spaces.Outdoor furniture has evolved along way from the folding, vinylstrap versions we grew up with, tobeautiful pieces made of teak, steel, rattan, and wicker. Many pieceslook just like indoor furniturebut are constructed and designed
