MBA Board Position Descriptions:
Preside over all Board meetings ensuring that meetings stay on taskand begin and end on time.
Act as chairperson of the Executive Committee and, along withExecutive Committee consensus, create committees (both permanentand ad-hoc) and appoint committee chairs, and set long term directionfor the Chapter.
Act as official representative of the Chapter at all official functionsincluding, but not limited to, the quarterly meeting of the ViterboUniversity Alumni Board, community service projects, and socialevents welcoming new alumni members.
Extend an invitation to graduating MBA students for membership in theChapter by way of an email upon their graduation, as well in person atsocial functions and community service projects and an open invitationof the various web pages.
Create meeting agendas, with the help of the Vice President andSecretary and send the agenda to all sitting board members.
President term is two years.
Vice President
Preside over meetings when President is not in attendance
Prepare, in collaboration with President, each meeting agenda
Develop strategic plan for board in collaboration with ExecutiveCommittee
Assist with meeting management, parliamentary procedure, and othermeeting protocol
Assume Presidential role following end of Vice President term
Attend majority of meetings, socials, and MBA Alumni Board activities
Promote MBA program, board, and Viterbo University
Vice President term is 2 years.
 Take detailed notes at Board meetings held once per month
Compose meeting minutes to be sent to all board members after themeeting. The notes can also be submitted to any chapter memberupon request.
Send out the Meeting Agenda at least one week in advance to themonthly meeting
Communicate with the President and VP on composing the meetingagenda
Send out any emails to the group as reminders for meetings,information due, or any other information related to themeeting/minutes.
Secretary’s term is one year.
PR/Communications Coordinator:
Maintain communications between Alumni and the MBA Board
Maintain the MBA Alumni email (mbaalumni@viterbo.edu) as well aspostings on Facebook in the MBA Alumni Group
Send out email reminders/updates to alumni about social events,volunteer events, ,or any additional information
Promote events/news via email and Facebook
Write up articles related to updates from the MBA Alumni Chapter forthe MBA Newsletter in collaboration with the MBA Coordinator and MBAProgram Director
Communicate with the President/VP for any updates to be made to theViterbo MBA Alumni Website
 Take pictures at events and upload them to the Facebook webpage
Promote the sale of MBA Alumni apparel; work with MBA Coordinator toorder/purchase
PR/Communications term is one year.
Social Coordinator:
Organizes activities appropriate for the Alumni Chapter, whilesupporting the University’s mission and values
Plan and execute at least two social events or activities per year. Off campus events are typically held each January and June, as acelebratory induction ritual for recent MBA graduates. A third annualevent is sometimes held on campus, in conjunction with the Dahl
School of Business during special anniversary years, Homecomingevents, and/or Alumni Weekend.
 The social coordinator should collaborate with the MBA Coordinatorand the Alumni Director to plan events; and also with theCommunications/PR Officer to advertise, market, and invite alumnithrough social media.
Reserve venues for monthly meetings.
Social Coordinator term is one year.
Volunteer Coordinator:
Facilitate at least two service projects a year amongst the MBA AlumniChapter
 To serve as a liaison between the board members and serviceopportunity representatives.
Research volunteer opportunities that meet the chapter's mission andservice goals.
Present service opportunities to the Board for discussion and approval
Recruit volunteers from within the Board as well as from the chapter toparticipate in volunteer events
Publicize key details of the events and coordinating any logisticsneeded
Work with the Public Relations Coordinator to publicize events,recruitment and post-event details (Photos, Facebook, Email, etc.)
Brand the MBA Alumni Chapter at any and all volunteer events (i.e. Vic,Shirts, Banners, etc.)
 Term is one year.
Board Member At-Large:
Elected or appointed by the board, with voting rights, to represent andparticipate on behalf of the Viterbo MBA Alumni as a whole.*MBA Chapter board members’ terms are a three-year term of officecommencing on August 1 of each year. Board members may serve two
