County Profile - Ottawa County, KS
Ottawa County is one of the 105 counties in the state of Kansas. The 2007 populationsestimate lists the population at 6006. According to 2000 estimates, it has 721.11 squaremiles in land area and a population density of 8.5 people per square mile. The averagehousehold size is 2.46 persons (2000), and median household income is $41,093(2004) (US census Bureau).
Population Estimates 
Ottawa County has a population of 6,006 as of July 1, 2007 (US Census Bureau). Thepopulation decreased by 2.55% from the year 2000 to 2007. As per the 2000 censussurvey, population of the county was 6,163 with median age of 40.1 years. In 2000,Ottawa County had about 20% of its population under the age of 15 years, 21.5% in theage group 15 to 34 years, 36% in the age group 35 years to 59 years and 22.3% of thepopulation above 60 years of age.
