Riley County is one of the 105 counties in the state of Kansas. The 2007 populationsestimate lists the population to be 69,083. According to 2000 estimates, it has 609.55square miles in land area and a population density of 103 people per square mile. Theaverage household size is 2.42 persons (2000), and median household income is$34,177 (2004) (US census Bureau).

Riley County has a population of 69,083 as of July 1, 2007 (US Census Bureau). Thepopulation increased by 9.93% from the year 2000 to 2007. As per the 2000 censussurvey, the population of the county was 62,843 with a median age of 23.9 years. In2000, Riley County had 15.8% of its population under the age of 15 years, 52.6% in theage group 15 to 34 years, 21.9% in the age group 35 years to 59 years and 9.6% of itspopulation above 60 years of age.
