MOTION FOR A EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT RESOLUTION
on the situation of fundamental rights: standards and practices in Hungary (pursuant tothe European Parliament resolution of 16 February 2012)(2012/2130(INI))
The European Parliament
, – having regard to Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union (TEU), setting out thevalues upon which the Union is founded, – having regard to Articles 3, 4, 6 and 7 of the Treaty on European Union (TEU), Articles49, 56, 114, 167 and 258 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union(TFEU), the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the EuropeanConvention on Human Rights (ECHR), – having regard to its resolution of 16 February 2012 on the recent political developmentsin Hungary
instructing the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, incooperation with the European Commission, the Council of Europe and the VeniceCommission, to follow up the issue of whether and how the recommendations set out inthat resolution have been implemented, and to present its findings in a report, – having regard to its resolutions of 10 March 2011 on the media law in Hungary
and of 5 July 2011 on the Revised Hungarian Constitution
, – having regard to its resolution of 15 December 2010 on the situation of fundamentalrights in the European Union (2009) – effective implementation after the entry into forceof the Treaty of Lisbon
, – having regard to its resolution of 12 December 2012 on the situation of fundamental
