The Vivo arte.mov - International Mobile-Media Art Festival encourages conscious and critical use o portable technologies with the perspective o people acting more eectively in their communities andsocial reality on the basis o building new models or collaboration and distribution. The third estivalbroadens the event’s eld o action by holding exhibitions and symposiums in Belo Horizonte and SaoPaulo, and extends its reach to all ve regions in Brazil. The São Paulo stage o the Vivo arte.mov is being held jointly by Sergio Motta Institute and theSão Paulo state government’s Secretary or Culture. Sergio Motta Institute is a nongovernmentalorganization working to promote the creative use o technology and the dissemination o innovations.Since 2000, the Institute has conducted several activities in the area o digital culture and creative art:the Sergio Motta Art and Technology Award, the workshop on Recombining Territories, the TechnologyConnections University Festival and HTTPVideo, HTTPTags and HTTPSom online estivals.For three days in Belo Horizonte and two in Sao Paulo, particpants will be discussing strategies ornetworked dissemination and access to inormation on mobile media, and the expected convergencebetween existing networks and physical space, technology and developments in their various socialaspects. The geographically distributed ormat o this year’s estival extends its scope to consolidate it as a orumor ongoing discussion and research into the audiovisual context, mobility culture and the perspectiveso using these media or artistic expression.
