Services PMI drops to 44.8 in June: service sector continues to contract
The purchasing managers’ index for services
(Services PMI) fell 2.9 points from47.7 in May to 44.8 in June. The decrease was broad-based, with all componentindices making negative contributions. This indicates that the Swedish serviceeconomy continued to weaken in June.
The business activity index dropped to 45.2 in June, thereby making the largestnegative contribution of the four component indices. New orders fell to a new low for the year, landing at 44.5, while the index for order backlogs rose slightly. Supplier delivery times continued to decrease, which reflects weak demand.
