Short Synopsis
In summer 2012, Rush Limbaugh, the right-wing talk-radio host and Republican Party unofficial head, publicized an expose by the libertarian organization Americans for Limited Government: President Obamas nominee to head the Bureau of Labor Statistics had sent her kids to a Jewish summer camp with Communist roots, which indoctrinates its campers with extremist ideology. Comedian and filmmaker Katie Halper went to that very camp, Camp Kinderland, as did her mother and grandmother. Have she and her family been brainwashed? Are the children attending camp today in danger? If so, can they be saved? Theres only one-way to find outby going back to camp.

Long Synopsis:
In the summer of 2012, Rush Limbaugh, the Right Wing radio show host and unofficial head of the Republican Party, publicized a report by the libertarian organization Americans for Limited Government, exposing the fact that President Obamas nominee to head the Bureau of Labor Statistics had sent her kids to a Jewish summer camp with Communist roots, which indoctrinates its campers with extremist ideology. Comedian and filmmaker Katie Halper went to that very camp, Camp Kinderland, as did her mother and grandmother before her. Was Katie, and her family, brainwashed? Are the campers who attend the camp today in danger? If so, can they be saved? Theres only one -way to find out and thats going back to camp. Following four nine-years-old campers from the first day to the last day of camp, Commie Camp reveals what really goes on at Camp Kinderland. We watch the children as they learn how to debate the problems facing the world, commemorate the Holocaust and the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, play the World Peace Olympics, Kinderlands alternative to other camps color wars, and h ave the times of their

lives! As Katie guides us through this journey with humor and pathos, she shares her own memories of Kinderland and realizes how much it has shaped who she is and how relevant its values are today.
