Major Injury Management Service

In the event of a life changing injury such as amputation, multiple fractures or a catastrophic brain injury, QBE recognises that the injured person may require a more intensive and individualised approach to ensure that an optimal recovery can be made and to support an injured person through the process of recovery.
Current research shows that the sooner an injured person returns to work, the more likely they will be to have a successful recovery from their injuries, an approach which is key to the success of the QBE Major Injury Management Service. At the core of the Major Injury Management Service is a focus on facilitating timely access to treatment for injured persons and a return to work focus from the outset. Where a return to work is not possible due to the extent of the injury, the service looks to maximise quality of life and independent living. As with the QBE RIDDOR Minor Injury Management Service (MiMs), this service aims to bring the benefits of rehabilitation to all parties in a cost effective manner and at the earliest time post injury. The service is integrated into the QBE claims handling philosophy, where we work in partnership with the client, advising on the best way forward to manage their employees optimal recovery. Referral into the service can be made via escalation from the RIDDOR MiMs scheme, directly by the policyholder, the claims adjuster or claimant solicitor at any time post injury.

The support provided by QBE assisted us greatly who made recommendations to aid the recovery process and organised a return to work strategy. We have now seen our employee make a successful return to work inside 6 months, which given the nature and extent of injuries we could not have hoped to achieve without the active involvement of QBE Cape UK, Cape.
