This paper intends to describe the phenomenon in South East Asia in 21st century that while many developing countries are having more democratization, the governments are governing with more absolute power. On the other side; frankly, rapid economic expansions are coming together with high role of state's economic interventions. This paper analyses the parallel strategy, which has pushed Singapore from poor island to the advanced economy within less than 50 years, as the main political economic idea that is being embedded by South East Asian leaders.
