For I give you good doctrine,
Be not c

forsake ye not my law.
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will show you towhom he is like:
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock:and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could notshake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an houseupon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; andthe ruin of that house was great.
Proverbs 4:3
For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of mymother.
Proverbs 4:4
He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words:keep my commandments, and live.

I Peter5:7
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
She shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her; Stephen, the first Christianmartyr, explains how the wisdom of Joseph brought him to honor in the land of Egypt:
And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,
And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sightof Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.
Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: andour fathers found no sustenance.
But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first.
And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph's kindred wasmade known unto Pharaoh.
Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore andfifteen souls.
So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,
And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for asum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.
