WORK EXPERIENCE 2000-2007 The Office Services Company, Nottingham Office Equipment Service Technician Duties included: Installing, repairing and maintaining office equipment at clients premises. Providing technical advice over the telephone. Training staff how to use new equipment. Making recommendations to clients on new or replacement equipment.

1988-1999

Alpha Manufacturing, Leicester Quality Assurance Technician Duties included: Maintaining the quality of products and services. Ensuring that materials, components and equipment met the required standards. Conducting a wide range of controlled tests, both during and after production.

IT SKILLS I am familiar with the programming packages MatLab and Visual Basic, and have had experience of using AutoCAD and Unigraphics. I am a competent user of Microsoft Office and I use the internet extensively, both for academic and personal use.

POSITIONS OF RESPONSIBILITY 2007 Present I am an avid gardener and member of the RHS, and have recently completed my RHS General Certificate in Horticulture. I also regularly work at St Martins Childrens Hospice as a volunteer gardener and I have recently designed a new seating area in the garden 2009 2011 I have been an active member of the Engineering Department, promoting Engineering & Science on behalf of the IMechE. During vacations, I acted as a steward at the Engineering Experience event held for prospective students. INTERESTS

I enjoy walking and general keep-fit, and play squash in a local league. I enjoy watching films and reading, particularly science-fiction and fantasy.
