In March 2007, STF and CORE/CARE conducted an evaluation of their radio campaign for the engaged and married young couples’ program. The program promoted HIV protective and service seeking behaviors among the target audience who were 15 to 24 years old. It was carried out in Busoga and Kupsabiny region of Uganda. Target audience was reached through weekly 30 minutes local language radio shows, which were aired on different radio stations reaching the respective localities. It intended to empowered the beneficiaries with skills to manage their sexuality through adoption of ABY HIV protection strategy and utilization of HIV related services such as VCT, PMTCT, antenatal care and family planning uptake. This research brief presents a sub-set of findings from the evaluation that relates to confusions identified in the target population regarding the concepts of 'engaged' and 'married'.
