Facing History and Ourselves is a nonprofit organization based in Brookline,Massachusetts, with regional offices throughout the United States and the UnitedKingdom and emerging partnerships across the globe. For more than 30 years, FacingHistory has challenged teachers and students to connect the complexities of the past tothe moral and ethical issues of today. Students explore democratic values and consider what it means to exercise one’s rights and responsibilities in the service of a morehumane and compassionate world. They become aware that “little things are big”—seemingly minor decisions can have major impact and change the course of history. For more about Facing History, see the last page of this publication and visit our websiteat
