I am a mother of 3 girls. In America that is considered a wonderful blessing, but in many countries it is considered a curse.

In India they have made it illegal to find out the sex of an unborn baby thru sonogram. Most people still find out. If they are carrying a girl, she will most likely be killed in her mothers womb. Little girls are expensive because much of India still employs a dowry system. This becomes a heavy burden for poor families with girls who are expected to bring a large reward to their marriage. If you are a Dalit, or an untouchable, and you are a street beggar who cannot even feed your family, the dowry system is an impossible reality (the caste system, which determines your status in society, is also illegal but still followed by many groups). An interesting thing I learned from my friend who just got back from India is that even well off women, some who are doctors or had rich families, were still getting these abortions. It is just so ingrained in the culture that if you are a girl you are a burden. They are considered worthless. Women can be beaten, raped, or even sold as a slave because they do not matter. They have no voice. But thank God we know this truth: But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2, 4-5. Praise the Lord we have women missionaries who know their worth because of Christ Jesus. And they go tell it on the mountain everyday, teaching women that they are loved by the Creator of the world. These precious women missionaries risk their lives daily to reach the lost, walking sometimes 15 miles a day to remote villages, or working in bustling cities. It is very important that we have women missionaries to start and run women fellowships, widow and orphan outreaches and womens literacy classes. Praise the Lord we are reaching the women of Asia! They too are loved by God, and thank you for loving them, too. Your support of us represents over 200 women missionaries on the field! Dear Family, Thank you so very much for your prayers, encouragement and support. We would not be here without you. As you just read so many exciting things are happening on the field. In 2012 alone nearly 5,000 new fellowships were established thru Gospel for Asia. So thank you, thank you, thank you! Matt has been keeping busy in writing. He is currently heading up this years Forgotten Christmas video, copy writing this years Christmas Catalog and he writes many of the appeals you see in the mail. He is also mentoring a young man named Wayne, who is currently raising support to come on staff. Wayne is in the picture on the right, with Matt and Daisy on her first birthday. (Yes she is already one, can you believe it?) We are both working on a web video called Imagine If. Look for that coming soon. We had an interesting Spring. We celebrated Rie turning 4, Daisy turning one, and our 7-year anniversary with a trip to the beach. It was a much needed break. My sister and her family moved back to CA. We are sad but we are happy for the Lord working in their lives. And we have all been battling some sort of illness on and off. Homeschooling was a bit off in Spring, but as the heat turns up we are going to be more serious in the Summer whilst others are out of school. I was blessed to head up an awesome team and decorate a baby shower for a sister here that just had twin boys. Their names are Micheal and Mark and they are still in the NICU so please pray for them (though by the time you read this, they may be home!). I have also been blessed to mentor a sweet young woman named Jessica. She is also raising support. Her story is pretty interesting as she grew up on staff. Her parents are currently on staff at GFA Canada. She is pictured below holding Daisy at the East Campus.

Our monthly goal is at $3,426. Our monthly pledges equal $2,755. That means we are 81% supported. We our believing that we will be 100% soon!
