Praise for the first edition:
"Although O'Reilly's Nutshell series are intended as 'DesktopReference' manuals, I have to recommend this one as a goodall-round read; not only as a primer for LPI certification, but as anexcellent introductory text on GNU/Linux. In all, this is a valuableaddition toO'Reilly's already packed stable of Linux titles and I look forward tomore from the author."--First Monday

Quite a good way to get prepared for a LPI certification.Does not cover everything you'll encounter at the exam of course but still is enough to get prepared, given that you've also your personal knowledge on Linux...Apart from studying for a certification, the book is probably less useful as it's very oriented for the exam preparation rather that for a practical usage and contains a lot of outdated stuff nobody uses (but is still asked for certification).
