Reviews for Google Pocket Guide
11 ratings2 reviews
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5There's a lot more to Google than a single search box. This pocket guide takes the content found in Google Hints and presents it much quicker. Highly recommended if you want to get more out of Google.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It comes down to this: looking for things is a pretty basic part of our nature, and Google is THE way to find things, so it makes sense to spend a little time up front to learn how to use Google effectively. The first half of the book is about searching (syntax, simple vs. advanced searches, preferences, etc.). The second half covers some of the other major Google tools like Groups, News, Images, and Froogle. None of these things are really that complicated and if you’re an intermediate computer user you already know 50-75% of it. But the book does a nice job of quickly going over the main Google features in a systematic fashion and it’s guaranteed that you will pick up some useful information. This is a small format paperback , 117 pages, and lots of pictures, so it goes by pretty fast.
