The three were arrested after Sheriffs Investigators with the assistance of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicle Investigators executed a search warrant at 239 River Road the business known as Spikes Auto Sales. Sheriffs Investigators conducted a two month investigation into the illegal sale of 2013 and 2014 forged New York State Inspection stickers out of Spikes Auto. During the investigation, a Sheriffs confidential informant did purchase 3 forged New York State inspection stickers from Spero Damopoulos ranging from $40 to $80 dollars. During the search of the business, Investigators recovered approximately 50 forged New York State inspection stickers and 4 chuka sticks also known as nunchakus. Investigators also recovered hydrocodone tablets.
Spero and Nicholas Damopoulos were arraigned in the Town of Bethlehem Court by the Honorable Judge Michael Katzer and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 bail each. Mary Labatte was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Bethlehem Court.
