Description

The creed ('aqeedah) of the four Imaams - Abee Haneefah (d.150H), and Maalik (d.179H), and ash-Shaafi'ee
(d.204H) and Ahmad (d.241H) -- is what the Book and the Sunnah speak of, and what the Companions and
those who followed them in goodness were upon. And there is no disagreement between these imaams - and
all praise is due to Allaah - in matters of usoolud-deen25, rather they are in agreement concerning the
Attributes of the Lord; and that faith (eemaan) is undoubtedly an affirmation of the heart and the tongue.
Rather, they rejected the people of kalaam (theological rhetoric), like the Jahmiyyah26 and other than them
from those who were affected by Greek philosophy and the madhaahibu-kalaamiyyah (ways of kalaam)
