DEACON CHAD ARNOLD
Deacon Chad will be serving at OurLady of Lourdes parish this summerbefore returning in the fall for his finalyear of seminary at Mount St. MarySeminary in Emmitsburg Maryland andthen ordination to the priesthood in thespring of next year. His home parish isSt. Peters, Schulte (just west of Wichita). Deacon Chad will begin hisassignment on Tuesday , May 26th.

Bishop Jackels has given Fr. Ruben anew assignment. As of June 15th Fr.Ruben will serve as full time hospitalchaplain at St. Francis Hospital inWichita. We are sad to see him moveon. We have to remember that ourloss is their gain at St. FrancisHospital.Fr. John Hay will begin hisassignment here on June 15th.

MEMORIAL DAY MASSAT THE CEMETERY
Once again we recognize and honor ourdeceased loved ones with thecelebration of the Eucharist at St.Mary’s Cemetery (Broadway andCentennial Streets). Mass will becelebrated Monday, May 25th at10:00am at the Cross in the cemetery.Please bring your own lawn chairs.We encourage you to attend some of the many Memorial Day servicesthroughout the area as well. TheAvenue of Flags at the Highland Park Cemetery is an awesome sight as wehonor those who served our country inthe military. (In case of rain the masswill be celebrated in Church at thesame time.)

 Applebee’s is hosting an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast to raisemoney for the Dominican Nuns of Summit, NJ. Carri Prewitt, a formerPSU student and Applebee’semployee, entered the monasteryover Spring Break. The breakfastwas originally scheduled for May 9,but had to be rescheduled due to thepower outage. Tickets are $5 andmust be purchased in advance.Tickets my be purchased at theparish office. Anyone needing arefund can bring their ticket to theoffice or to Applebee’s.
