Dear Eighth Grade Scholars,
You now have the opportunity to Learn at Home!Even though your school is closed, you can use this time to learn exciting new thingsand study what you have already learned.
In order to stay on track for success:
1.
Read from a book, magazine or newspaper of your choice each day
2.
Learn and use new vocabulary words each day
3.
Write each day. For example:
a.
Write a letter to President Obama about a topic that interests you
b.
Start a journal and write about your day, your dreams, your friends, yourfamily and your plans
c.
Write a letter or email to your teacher about the subjects and the activitiesyou enjoy in school
d.
Write a letter or email to a relative or a friend
e.
Write a short story, poem, or lyrics to a song
4.
Participate in a fitness activity and/or a creative activity to keep your body andyour mind strong
5.
Review your notes and books from school
6.
Share what you learn each day with your parent or caregiverOn the following pages, you will find a day-to-day guide to help you stay organizedand on track for success. It includes a suggested schedule, activities, and educationalTV shows.
