ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR
Would you prefer to work alone or part of a team? Why?
I will definitely support decision making in groups. I would like to workin group. Because in group, we have more opportunities to take theideas of other and combine them to make a single decision and that isthe best approach. There may be wrong decisions but you mustconsider the group of people who are taking the decision. There isdifference between the people. There are a number of instances inprofessional as well as personal life when decision-making involvesopinions and inputs from more than one or two people. This is wheregroup decisions come into the picture. We always need group decisionmaking in our daily life as I discussed above. There are number of examples about decision making. You must be aware of parliament of any country. There are many members like MNAs or MPAs in theparliament who’re making decisions. Though every member have ownideas and choices, but all the members have to be the part of thegroup. No any member is allowed to enforce the law or agreement onthe behalf of the whole nation. This is one of the major examples of decision making in groups. The decisions in companies are also basedon group decisions. Because the main purpose of taking decision ingroup is to save the interest of shareholders. Just think that group isgoing to take the decision to save the interest of individuals. It clearlymeans and reflects the strength of group decision making. There are many advantages of taking decisions in group. Some of them are as follow.
Group decisions help to merge person strengths of the groupmembers and hence has a set of varied skill sets applied in thedecision making process.
Individual opinions can be biased or affected with pre-conceivesnotions are restricted perspectives, group decision help to get abroader viewpoint owing to differences of insight betweenindividual in the group.
In group decision making, you always have a broad image of theproblem that you’re going to solve with the help of decisionmaking in group.
A group decision always means enhanced collectiveunderstanding of the course of action to be taken after thedecision is taken.
