All theparticipants rom Indonesia tried sohard and those that won were very impressive in their events. Tere are so many people to thank rom the BCP Committee membersand those who helped to mentorthe Bali teams, to the sponsors who helped us to realise oursuccess, the judges who were air and encouraging and ourmany supporters. Bali once again won the Indonesian selection or the AsianPastry Cup and will represent Bali in Singapore in 2010 in thelead up to the World Pastry Cup in 2011. we have great hopesthat these two talented pastry ches, who have kept trying andperormed better each time, will have great success in theircareers and be great ambassadors or Indonesia. For the Junior Ches who practiced hard and bought home agold and a bronze I would like to say how proud we are. Tis isa new program or us and to see the enthusiasm and hard work that has gone into this event is very encouraging.Special thanks to Stean Mueller and Darren Lauder and AgusPandetria rom Ayana, Oscar Perez and Vincent Stopin rom StRegis, Lotus distribution and all ches who gave their supportand their contribution to make this event a great success. Next year it is Bali’s turn to host the Salon Culinaire and I hope we can do it as well as our sister organization in Jakarta did. It was a great event.

Dear members and Friends,I have so many people to thank ortheir tireless work, their wonderulperormances and their generoussponsorship during the SalonCulinaire in Jakarta this April.Te show attracted more competitorsthan ever beore and the ACP andBCP committees had a lot to be proud o. Te level o competitionattracted much prasie rom an incredible line-up o judges, bothlocal and internationalCongratulations to all the winners and those that tried so hard anddid not get a place, there is always next year in Bali.I would also like to say a special thank you to the WACSrepresentatives that came to oversee the competition and our wonderul guest judges who came rom Singapore, Malaysia,Hong Kong as well as Bali and Jakarta.o the organising committee as well, I would like to express my admiration or the ACP Organising committee who did such agreat job and were very busy throughout the event.Finally the uture o our local industry looks very healthy ollowingour rst Asian Junior Ches Challenge. Although the local teamsdid not win the top place, Bali received a bronze and we sawsome very impressive eort. Te Young Ches Clubs are new toIndonesia and the potential we saw was very encouraging.I must also say a special congraulations to the team rom FourSeasons Jakarta, my home team, or winning the Gold rophy orBest Culinary team.Once again thank you to all who made this event a very special one.

Four Seasons Jakarta took out the highest honours to winthe gold trophy or best team. Bali’s team o pastry ches camehold with a gold trophy o their own and our young ches did usproud, bringing back a gold and a bronze medal or Bali. As usual we have been treated to some great lunches and dinnersthroughout the last two months, up-market, on the streets andeverything in between. You can read all about it in this isue.Te Wine dinner seems to be the avour o the year, we look at thehows and whys. And lastly we stopped or a ew araks, it’s all aboutgoing local these days. Enjoy.
