SyncEXPnet User Guide v.0905 by SyncEXPERT -2-

1.0 Overview

SyncEXPnet, is a shareware program that processes proprietary and innovative

algorithms to synchronize digital data between desktop computers, laptops, USB
flash thumb drives and any Microsoft Windows based network storage devices,
automatically including hidden files and folders.

SyncEXPERT's software combines bulletproof reliability with an extremely easy-

to-use interface. The software offers a smart data comparison approach in
combination with a synchronizing speed that is second to none. Your corporation
can save anywhere from minutes to hours of computation resources, depending
on the number of files that need processing, over our competitors programs. Our
software is small in size but is robustly built to process high loading tasks.

SyncEXPnet is a client – server tool that synchronizes files, folders and

databases on Windows LANs (intranet) or WANs (extranet) platforms using
TCP/IP networks protocol, at your office and home. A multitude of databases are
supported with an ODBC connection, such as, Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL
server, Sybase, Pervasive SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and also desktop
database products, such as, FileMaker and Microsoft Access.

If you are a web hosting business, SyncEXPnet is an offsite backup tool for you
to mirror a site quickly and easily. Backups can be scheduled anytime from
hourly to daily.

The software runs fast and uses very little system resources as it compares file
and sub-folders on a network and copies, deletes, and/or ignores items based on
your instructions making it the best companion for sharing data, making backups,
and mirroring files.

SyncEXPnet comes with FileSync and DataSync functionalities. FileSync works

with the files and folders on the network while DataSync manages and compares
the system records and tables inside the database.

SyncEXPnet's client program is a green software, or a "widget”, which is free

from dll and can be run from the USB thumb disk. When the USB disk is
removed from the workstation the synchronizer detaches from the computer.

No installation to the client computer is ever required and the software works
even if software installs are prohibited.

The smart data comparison feature allows a directory snapshot to be stored to

save scanning time of repetitive tasks, therefore, the synchronizing speed is
substantially faster than many peer applications that are available.

3.0 Licensing Information

The SyncEXPnet is shareware that operates in a client-server mode.

The server license fee is paid per installation on a hard drive, LAN card, MAC
address, or IP address. All upgrades of SyncEXPnet are free for the lifetime of
the product.

The program is freely distributable as long as the full contents of the zip file are
sent in an unmodified form. SyncEXPnet offers three different license packages
as shown below:

Shareware: 30 days fully functional and then limited to five file transfers
afterward

Basic License: fully functional software with file synchronization capabilities

Advance License: fully functional software with file and database

synchronization capabilities

network environment. SyncEXPnet disclaims any direct or indirect liabilities on
using the program or loss of data.

SyncEXPnet User Guide v.0905 by SyncEXPERT -4-

4.0 Installation Instructions

SyncEXPnet will be sent as a .zip file that will need to be opened using a utility
similar to WinZip (http://www.winzip.com).

You can extract and save the files wherever you wish. In order to run the
programs you simply click on the appropriate executable (.exe) file and the
program will launch.

The software will contain the following files:

 SEServer.exe: main server program

 SEClient.exe: main client program
 IniAdmin.exe: manage database interface definition

5.0 Uninstallation Instructions

The SyncEXPnet program does not install to the local machine but instead
places a folder with the executables (.exe) inside.

In order to uninstall SyncEXPnet, you simply need to delete the syncexpnet

folder that was extracted from the .zip file in the installation instructions. Once the
folder has been deleted from the workstation or network the program is
completely uninstalled.

6.0 Important Software Information

Trojan/Virus Alert

The File NTFSys.dll is compressed by PECompact in order to minimize the size

of the file. Virus scanners (such as, Avast as reported) may view the act a
potential hack, while other scanners (such as, Norton and Kaspersky) sees this a
clean file.

task. Once the delete button is clicked that task is permanently removed
from the system.

1. Open SyncEXPnet (Client).

2. Highlight the task and click the button to delete the task.

3. Click the button.

8.0.2 Dataset Synchronization Tasks

The DataSync feature backs up and mirrors multiple sizable databases across
the Internet or corporate networks.

Datasets are the targeted data that you would like to be synchronized, therefore,
in a database the table is called a dataset.

Records are the data entries that form a dataset. A database can have multiple
tables. A table with fewer than a thousand records is considered "small" in
SyncEXPnet.

Fields are the different attributes of data.

Key Fields are specific fields whose values are unique within a table. A Key
Field value should be characters or convertible strings. Once a record is written
its value should not be changed. The Key Field does NOT support Unicode.
Table's Key Field can be used for our synchronization purpose. In order to
speed up the synchronization speed the Key Field should be indexed.
SyncEXPnet requires the Key Field to identify a record.

Modified Time is a field in a table that tracks when a record was last changed.
SyncEXPnet uses this field to decide if a record needs to be processed, therefore
if you have records that are not supposed to be updated at any time it will assist
in speeding up the data scans. If this field is not found in a table all the data
within a record will be scanned thoroughly and compared bit by bit which can
become a time consuming if you have thousands of records. SyncEXPnet
supports this field in both, Date and Time and Date only formats. An index for
that field is desirable for an efficient sync task.

SyncEXPnet User Guide v.0905 by SyncEXPERT - 21 -

SyncEXPnet has an option for you to control how many days old the records are
that you want to compare and synchronize. For example, if you define it as 300
days, records older than 301 days will be excluded from the results allowing for a
more proficient processing of relevant data.

A Deletion Tag is one of the fields in a table that is typically a binary field with a
value of true or false. When a record is decided to be deleted, SyncEXPnet will
tag the field as true instead of physically removing the record. This method is
selected as permanently deleting a record can create chaos when a host
database is being synchronized to multiple mirror sites which are changing
independently. The Deletion Tag helps a synchronization task to be done more
accurately and reliably although one needs to manually delete true-tagged
records from time to time, or to add a module in your database application to
purge them automatically.

8.0.2.0 Operational Structure

SyncEXPnet > Data Access Interface (wDataAcc.dll) > ODBC > Database

8.0.2.1 Add ODBC Data Source

You can easily add your database by using Windows built-in ODBC management
tool, odbcad32.exe. You should classify your database as a "user database" or
"system database". A User Database allows only the current logged in user to
access the information. A System Database allows all users with the proper
administrative rights access to the database information. (Note: The example
below uses a Microsoft Access database.)
