If you are a web hosting business, SyncEXPnet is an offsite backup tool for you
to mirror a site quickly and easily. Backups can be scheduled anytime from
hourly to daily.
The software runs fast and uses very little system resources as it compares file
and sub-folders on a network and copies, deletes, and/or ignores items based on
your instructions making it the best companion for sharing data, making backups,
and mirroring files.
No installation to the client computer is ever required and the software works
even if software installs are prohibited.
Supported Platforms:
• Microsoft Windows XP
• Microsoft Windows NT
• Microsoft Windows 2000
• Microsoft Windows 2003
• Microsoft Windows Vista
The server license fee is paid per installation on a hard drive, LAN card, MAC
address, or IP address. All upgrades of SyncEXPnet are free for the lifetime of
the product.
The program is freely distributable as long as the full contents of the zip file are
sent in an unmodified form. SyncEXPnet offers three different license packages
as shown below:
Shareware: 30 days fully functional and then limited to five file transfers
afterward
Users should fully test the capability of the program before using it in your
network environment. SyncEXPnet disclaims any direct or indirect liabilities on
using the program or loss of data.
SyncEXPnet will be sent as a .zip file that will need to be opened using a utility
similar to WinZip (http://www.winzip.com).
You can extract and save the files wherever you wish. In order to run the
programs you simply click on the appropriate executable (.exe) file and the
program will launch.
The SyncEXPnet program does not install to the local machine but instead
places a folder with the executables (.exe) inside.
Trojan/Virus Alert
In order to request a new license you will need to provide the email address
of the licensee and payee name to verify ownership. You will receive a new
license key within 24-48 hours of contacting us.
If the system password security has been compromised, follow the instructions

from the system.

Datasets are the targeted data that you would like to be synchronized, therefore,
in a database the table is called a dataset.
Records are the data entries that form a dataset. A database can have multiple
tables. A table with fewer than a thousand records is considered "small" in
SyncEXPnet.
Key Fields are specific fields whose values are unique within a table. A Key
Field value should be characters or convertible strings. Once a record is written
its value should not be changed. The Key Field does NOT support Unicode.
Table's Key Field can be used for our synchronization purpose. In order to
speed up the synchronization speed the Key Field should be indexed.
SyncEXPnet requires the Key Field to identify a record.
Modified Time is a field in a table that tracks when a record was last changed.
SyncEXPnet uses this field to decide if a record needs to be processed, therefore
if you have records that are not supposed to be updated at any time it will assist
in speeding up the data scans. If this field is not found in a table all the data
within a record will be scanned thoroughly and compared bit by bit which can
become a time consuming if you have thousands of records. SyncEXPnet
supports this field in both, Date and Time and Date only formats. An index for
that field is desirable for an efficient sync task.
A Deletion Tag is one of the fields in a table that is typically a binary field with a
value of true or false. When a record is decided to be deleted, SyncEXPnet will
tag the field as true instead of physically removing the record. This method is
selected as permanently deleting a record can create chaos when a host
database is being synchronized to multiple mirror sites which are changing
independently. The Deletion Tag helps a synchronization task to be done more
accurately and reliably although one needs to manually delete true-tagged
records from time to time, or to add a module in your database application to
purge them automatically.
SyncEXPnet > Data Access Interface (wDataAcc.dll) > ODBC > Database
You can easily add your database by using Windows built-in ODBC management
tool, odbcad32.exe. You should classify your database as a "user database" or
"system database". A User Database allows only the current logged in user to
access the information. A System Database allows all users with the proper
administrative rights access to the database information. (Note: The example
below uses a Microsoft Access database.)
3. Choose the System DSN tab and click the Add button to launch the Create a
New Data Source window.
5. Enter a name in the Data Source Name window and click the Select button.
7. Click Ok two times to exit out of the ODBC Data Source window.
The next step in the Dataset Synchronization is to run the IniAdmin.exe file in
order to automatically add your local data to the DataSync.ini file. (Note: If you
are an expert in manipulating database structure you can edit the DataSync.ini
directly using Notepad.)
1. Open the syncexpnet folder and double-click the IniAdmin.exe file to open the
Data set administration window.
5. From the drop-down menu, select the Primary Key and Modification Time.
4. Select Data as the sync type from the drop down menu.
(Note: If you find that there are no folders/data sets to select from you will need
to open the SEserver and map the folder to that user and provide them with the
correct privileges. See section 8.0.7 for step by step directions.)
6. Select the Mirror Folder/Data Set from the drop down menu.
7. Add a description in the notes section located in the bottom left window if
necessary.
8. Choose the File Synchro Options from the drop down menus.
1. Once you have entered all of the appropriate information into the
Warning: You will not be prompted to verify that you want to delete the
task. Once the delete button is clicked that task is permanently removed
from the system.
2. Highlight the task and click the button to delete the task.
4. Enter the New Host Address and click Ok to see the Host Address change.
2. Highlight the task and click the button to launch the Other Setting
window.
4. Enter a new name for the Task if you wish or you can leave the default
selected.
5. Place a checkmark in each checkbox of the items you would like to have
synchronized.
6. Select if you want the synchronization to occur every day or every week from
the drop down menu.
8. Use the arrows to select how many times the task should be repeated.
(Note: Two examples are outlined below to assist in explaining the repeat
feature.)
Example 1: If a daily task is set to repeat three times, the task will NOT run on
the forth and subsequent days.
Example 2: If a task is set to run every hour and is set to repeat 20 times, the
task will run for 20 hours and stop on the 21st hours and forward.
2. Highlight the task of the Host you want to connect to and click the button.
3. The bottom left of the Client window will show a message stating,
“Congratulations! Logon ok” if the host has been properly connected to.
2. The lower left window of the Client screen will display a message of
“Disconnected. “
3. Click Ok.
7. From the drop down menu choose None, Fast, Normal, or Max as the
Compression rate. (Note: This function is applicable to uncompressed files only.
However, you will find that you save transfer time with this function if a task
covers both compressed and uncompressed files.)
9.0.4 Activity
The Activity Tab will inform you of which users are logged into the system, IP
address for each user, download and upload speed. If no one is logging in, the
activity window will be blank.
1. If the server is not already started, double-click the SEServer icon and the
process icon should display in the system tray of the taskbar (typically located in
the bottom right of the screen.)
9.0.5 Log
The Log option can be set up to include or exclude many options within the
program by following the instructions below:
1. If the server is not already started, double-click the SEServer icon and the
process icon should display in the system tray of the taskbar (typically located in
the bottom right of the screen.)
7. Click Ok when finished. A log file will look similar to the example below:
1. If the server is not already started, double-click the SEServer icon and the
process icon should display in the system tray of the taskbar (typically located in
the bottom right of the screen.)
4. The MAC Address or HardDisk Serial Number will be displayed. Click the
Buy Now button and proceed to register your version of SyncEXPnet.
10.0 Synchronization
5. A Results screen will appear at the end of the synchronization showing the
tasks that were completed and if any files failed to synchronize.
