The media is integrating and showcasing photographic reporting in new ways andinadvertently, the popular culture is becoming more aware of visual journalism.MGS 3rd Regional Youth Conference (RYC) 2009 wants to celebrate the art of
photojournalism
,not just the artistic and technical qualities of photography. This competition seeks to recognizeour promising photojournalists who are able to interpret the theme,
Blue is the new Green
, andcommunicate meaning through their photographs.
Rules & Regulations
1.
This competition is open to all students of participating schools.2.
Entries submitted for the Competition must be based on the theme,
Blue is the new Green
3.
Each participant can only submit up to 3 photographs.4.
All photographs must be in DIGITAL format and only either in colour or black-and-white. Images that are scanned from slides, negatives or photographic prints are accepted.5.
Photographs must be submitted in the forms of .jpeg, .jpg, .gif files. The files
must not exceed
3MB with
minimum
resolution of 800 pixels on both dimensions.6.
Photographs are to be named in the format of “Name_School_
Title of Photograph”

Minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable. Cropping is acceptable.Fish-eye lenses are acceptable. High dynamic range images (HDRI) and stitchedpanoramas are acceptable only if the combined parts are all made around the same time.8.
The RYC Committee reserves the right to disqualify photographs that are deemed tocontain too many adjustments.9.
Photographs that have won or have been placed in other contests
will not
be accepted.Photographs that violate copyrights are not eligible.10.
All entries must be accompanied by a short write-up
to explain the significance of the photograph
. This write-up should not exceed 100 words.11.
By entering the contest, the participant represents, acknowledges and warrants that thesubmitted photograph is an
original
work
created solely
by the participant, that thephotograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no otherparty has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph. In other words, participantsare not allowed to submit works that
do not
belong to them.
