Step 3
Copy one set of cards for each pair of students.Divide the class into pairs. Give each pair one set of cards and tell them to shuffle them.Tell them to look first for the headings(
Christmas in Spain, British / American Christmas)
, and to maketwo groups with the cards that go under each heading.Once they have the two groups ask them to match each card in the first group (

) withthe corresponding card from the second group (
British / American Christmas
).Go round the class helping with vocabulary and occasionally correcting wrong matches.If necessary, check when they finish.
You can use the photos as flashcards to help with vocabulary (Christmas pudding, mince pies, roastturkey)
If there are students from other nationalities in the class, ask them to explain (it could be in Spanish) howChristmas or New Year is celebrated in their country.
