OrthodoxUnion

With an array of religious, youth, social action, educa-tional, public policy and community developmentservices, programs and activities, the Orthodox Union isamong the largest Jewish organizations in the world. Itskosher supervision label, the , is the world’s most recognizedkosher symbol.Over 60% of kosher supervised foods in the USA carry the on theirlabels. That translates to more than 400,000 products produced in 6,000 plantsin 80 countries.Respected and trusted the world over, Kashrut makes it easy toshop for kosher products and to keep kosher at home and away.Thesymbol is a registered trademark in the U.S., Israel, Canada, and the European Union. It may only be used withwritten authorization of the Orthodox Union Kashruth Division. This guide is a list of certified kosher products for usefor Passover, 2006.Products appearing in this guide are endorsed as kosher only when bearing the emblem on the label. It is recommendedthat consumers check the ingredient panel of products with no dairy designation to insure that the pareve status is accurate.Consumers should look for the P or Kosher for Passover symbols on all products. There are, however, some endorsedproducts which do not require special Passover supervision. These are listed in the shaded section of this guide. Kosher forPassover stickers are generally not acceptable. Some products appear in both the white and shaded areas of the guide. While this may seem contradictory, since the shadedarea includes products that do not require an P while the white area lists items that must bear an P, there is actuallynoconflict. Products in the shaded area are acceptable without an P because, in the judgment of the OU, these items aretypically produced in a manner that renders them Kosher for Passover even without full-time rabbinic supervision.Nonetheless, some consumers are more stringent and prefer to only use products for Passover which were made with full-timerabbinic supervision to unequivocally insure the Passover status. To accommodate this audience, some companies make a pro-duction with full-time Passover supervision, and in such instances the supervised product is labeled P.Weencourage you to ask your local grocer or supermarket manager to stock those endorsed products that are not readilyavailable in your area.Kashrut updates appear regularly on our website, www.ou.org., in our weekly
Shabbat Shalom
e-mail, and in the
Jewish Action
,our quarterly family magazine.
