THIS is random footage of quarterfinals , semi-finals, & finals (men & women), great day of surfing, although the waves weren't so great. The bad news is there was a bit of a "riot" (as they media reports it) at the end of the day (well after the end of the surfing and other events) around main street. I was long gone by that time so I don't have any first-hand commentary or footage of it. it's unfortunate that some jerks have to do this kind of nonsense...I was thinking to myself how NICE the police were being this year..as they seemed to be "lying low" and allowing people to have fun without any stern presence or staredowns...what this means NOW is that next year we will definitely FEEL the HEAT again..which is not fun..nobody likes OC cops getting tense or angry, especially at the beach or ballgame etc.

"The final day was held in a front of a maximum capacity crowd at Huntington Beach Pier in 2-3 foot surf. With her win, Carissa moves ahead of Tyler Wright in the race for the 2013 Women's World Title. "It's such an honor to win this event in front of this big crowd. I feel amazing!" said Carissa.

Muniz, the regularfoot from Brazil, overcame Orange County's own Kolohe Andino despite the latter sticking a huge air that had a few fans grumbling, "Underscored!" Muniz, who has been struggling on the World Championship Tour, took home a whopping $100,000 paycheck and had this to say to the media, "I was putting everything in to this event and the work paid off. I focused more on myself rather than who I was surfing against and what scores they were getting." Whatever he did worked—the Argentine/Brazilian is going home a rich man..."
