Description

June 4, 2003 Memo from 9/11 Commission staffer Dana Hyde to Commissioner Richard Ben-Veniste, cc'd to the other Commissioners, re: questions for NORAD, and NORAD-DOD-FBI-FAA-Secret Service document and briefing requests.

The Memo says that the staff had recently learned of an existing transcript of the Air Threat Conference Call, and that a C-130 had been diverted to follow AA 77 on its path to the Pentagon. It also notes that raw radar data for the 4 hijacked flights and the Otis and Langley scrambled fighters had been received.

Questions for NORAD include the when they were notified of hijackings, when open lines were established, when airspace over DC was closed, about rules of engagement for shoot down, and more.
