Ten Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Trust SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION COMPANIES
Introduction: About this Report
One thing that I’d like to emphasise it that I’m not writing this report to have a go atsearch engine optimization companies; or to discourage you from using searchengine optimization companies. I’m writing this report to emphasise the importanceof understanding the basics of search engine optimization before you embark onyour own internet marketing campaign. Not every search engine optimization company is bad. In fact most are good. But alot aren’t ‘business people’. And that’s why you need to be very wary of trustingsearch engine optimization companies without having a decent understanding of what they’re doing – at least then you can manage them properly.I’m not suggesting that your company should undertake the implementation of yourown internet marketing – although this wouldn’t necessarily be a bad idea. What Iam suggesting though is that your company HAS to understand the basics of searchengine optimization before embarking on any kind of internet marketing campaign.I hope you enjoy the following report. I hope you find it useful. I’m sure you will do. All I’m trying to do is encourage you to take control of your own internet marketing.

Ten Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Trust SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION COMPANIES
Reason 1: They pretend that SEO is complicated
SEO (Search Engine Optimizaion) isn’t complicated. However, some Search EngineOptimization companies pretend that it is. So what exactly is it that SEO companiesdo?
STEP 1:
Firstly, they look at your website and make sure that your coding tells search enginesexactly what each page on your site is about. This isn’t as difficult as it seems. Itsimply involves getting the right keyword phrases in the right places on your site. This shouldn’t take much more than a few minutes for each page.
STEP 2:
Secondly, they start building links with keyword phrases in them from other websitesto your website. A
relevant
link from another site is like a vote for your site in theeyes of search engines. Links should contain a reasonable variety of keywordphrases to look to search engines as if they have evolved in a ‘natural’ manner.
STEP 3:
There is no step 3.Seriously – that’s all you have to do to build yourself a high search engine ranking.Sure – it takes time – on average about six months of continuous effort to startbringing in a good amount of traffic from Google.
Which Keyword Phrases To Choose?
I normally recommend the free keyword suggestion tool available at
. All you have to do when you visit this siteis to type in your industry sector – i.e. ‘travel’ – and they’ll tell you the most commoninternet searches which are generated that contain the keyword phrase in question.
Which Keyword Phrase Suggestions Should You Choose?
This is where the intangible comes in. The more popular the keyword phrase, theharder it is to have your website appear on the first page of search engine results forthat phrase. As a general rule, try picking a keyword phrase that is searched 100 to1000 times a day for your home page, 25 to 250 times a day for your site categoriesand 10 to 100 times a day for keyword phrases on other pages.
Where Should You Place Your Keyword Phrase?
Your keyword phrases need to be in your page title, your heading tag, your contentand your links to that page. They could also be incorporated into your ‘Alt’ and ‘Title’ tags. Although it is a slight technical learning curve to become familiar with the codingrequired, the reason why search engine optimization work isn’t as complicated as
