Variance Requests & Updates
One variance request; work performed at the Regal Condominiums on Winthrop Street. They are rebuilding a broken set of stairs at the end of the building. The door at thisentrance leads you only to a set of stairs going up and another going down. There areaccessible ramps on both sides of the building at mid point. Diane noted that the rampwould be extremely costly and provide no benefit to a person with disabilities. Mariemotioned to send a letter of agreement to the AAB, Henry seconded, all in favor.
Nappi’s was before the AAB on Monday and Diane was not present. They foundin favor of the complainant (AAB staff) and requested a plan for compliance or avariance.
Diane reminded Maury Carroll about the variance issue. He said the agreementis worked out and should be delivered to City Hall this week.
The ramp and railings at Harvard and Winchester are in.
