Langley, BC V2Y 331 LEGISLATIVE SERVICES Dear Mayor and Council, Bumaby City Council, at the open Council meeting held on 2009 April 27" received a report from our Director Planning and Building providing an analysis of a consultant’s report commissioned by the Provincial Government with respect to a location for a proposed remand/prison facility in the lower mainland. ‘As you know, the Provincial Government had determined the facility would be constructed in Bumaby, but that after immense opposition from both Burnaby Council and our citizens, the Province has referred the location search to the Metro Vancouver Mayors’ Committee. believe our staff report outlines information of interest to all lower mainland municipalities and therefore I am enclosing a copy for your review.
