The draft Charter recognizes the separate interests and obligations of the 16 port cities within Metro Vancouver and the Port Metro Vancouver while outlining the commitment to continuing an effective collaborative relationship. The Charter will replace the Preliminary Engagement Framework that was signed in January 2008, and also the previous Charters between the three former port corporations and the individual 16 port city municipalities.
