Presidents Message

Greetings to the St. Paul University Iloilo Academic community and the organizers and production artists of our 2013 Velada, Sariling Atin: Times and Seasons and to our budding Filipino Paulinian artists. Surely, it is a new generationfriendly showcase of Filipinos yesterday and today. It is with pride that I greet you, the artists in this 7th annual Velada that we aptly entitled, Sariling Atin: Times and Seasons. You want to capture that which is Filipino in our rites and celebrations that which is distinctly Christian, Asian, and Ilonggo rolled into one Philippine Culture. What a fitting tribute to Filipinos through the year. In the Bible, it is said that there is a time for everything and the season to celebrate is now. How strongly our culture is pegged to the life of the Catholic Church. WE are people of faith and this ius being affirmed for us in this Year of Faith 2013 when our young are growing in this faith without being conscious of it. But with us at the University who point out to them the images of faith in the very woof and fiber of Filipino way of life, all the more this faith is appreciated and loved. Let us praise and thank God for this truly amazing grace than ourselves and our needs. Let us promote our University through this show so that more can experience what Paulinians of yesterday and today are blessed with. What is your, my dear Paulinians, can be shared with the young of your generation in Panay, particularly in Iloilo City. Congratulations! May this influence continue on and on and may we truly treasure the gift that is ours now and forever. Caritas Christi urgent nos.
