Standing Committees, Committees, andProjects
Standing committees are those committees with a continued existence,formed to do its assignedworkon an ongoing basis. JA of Taney County hasseveral standing committees; some are required by National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA), and others are a function of the Chapter’s choice.Each of these committees will report at the monthly Chapter meetings. Theyare:EducationFinanceNominatingProjectsPublic RelationsScholarship (NAJA)MembershipHistoryParliamentary ProcedureCommittees may be formed by anindividualor agroupto whom a matter is
referred, or is committed for attention, investigation,analysis, orresolution.
Committees in JA are often formed to work on a project. Each committee willhave a chairperson as well as a number of members. Each member isencouraged to be a part of as many committees as she feels she can handlein her schedule and that fit her abilities and strengths. As a way to bettercommittee participation, in 2009-2010, the Chapter will allocate 15 minutesat the end of each Chapter meeting to committee meetings (as designatedas priority by the Executive Board). For example, in Feburary, it is likely thatthe Trivia Challenge committee would meet.Project committees will be asked to bring their business to Chapter meetings
in brief
and during the unfinished business portion of the meeting.Projects are planned undertakings in the fields of welfare, health, recreation,culture, or education for which the Chapter has some part of financial oradministration responsibility.
