, the latest release by R&B artist Ginuwine,is more like the freshman still looking for his identity.Although Ginuwine stepped up to the plate as a writer and producer, the album falls short. While there are a few songs that stand out and makethe album appealing, the album is lackluster overall. The R&B crooner includes both his typical sex-driven,bump and grind songs and a couple of more low-keyones that show a less vulgar Ginuwine. However, theuseless interludes, especially an opening intro by MikeTyson, make his fourth CD fall short. If you’ve heard the lead single, “Hell Yeah,” on theradio, and you’re expecting more of the same – beforewarned. The upbeat energy of that track isn’t anaccurate reflection of the entire album. The single, which was written and produced by R. Kelly, issurrounded by not-so-interesting songs that make youwant to repeatedly reach for the skip button no matter how much you try not to.The CD starts off on a sour note. There’s an introwhere ear-biting Mike Tyson gives Ginuwine the seal of approval and predicts that he’ll be around for a while. Why anyone would want a stamp of approval from MikeTyson is unclear, since his past deeds have given hima not-so-great reputation. The CD has three other interludes that seem likeuseless time-wasters. One interlude is eight minuteslong. Yes, EIGHT minutes, for an interlude. Maybethere was a purpose behind these interludes but they just end up taking attention away from the album andmaking someone question why they’re bothering to
