CenturyLink(ed) to Winning
One thing that has been a constant from the early days of the Kingdome through the championship years of CenturyLink Field is that the 12th Man has given that extra edge to the Seahawks when playing in the Puget Sound. Seattle has the NFCs secondbest home record since moving to the NFC in 2002 with a 5929 record, joining only Green Bay, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Chicago with 50+ wins over that span. NFC Best Home Record Since 2002 Team Record Pct. Green Bay 6226 .705 Seattle 5929 .670 Atlanta 5731 .648 Chicago 5434 .614 Philadelphia 5236 .591

Down to the Wire

Seattle has compiled a 168 record since the final half of the 2011 season and in those eight losses, the margin of victory for the opponent has been 4.4 points (35 points). The Seahawks largest defeat since Week 10 (11/13/11) of 2011 was a sevenpoint loss at San Francisco (10/18/12) last season in Week 7.

Sold Out Seahawks

With the Seahawks trip to Super Bowl XL and NFC West crowns from 200407 and 2010, Seattles fans do not want to miss out on seeing their team in action. Since 2003, all but one game has sold out, giving the team 85 consecutive sell outs entering this season, including playoffs. The club renewed season tickets at a franchiserecord 98% and capped season ticket packages at 62,000. The remaining sin glegame tickets for the regular season sold out the same day they went on sale which led to the remaining Bing Training Camp practices open to the public to also sell out later that day. In all, more than 35,000 fans attended the teams open camp sessions.

Red Alert: Block Party

The Seahawks have a force in the middle on their kickblock unit in the form of 323pound defensive tackle Red Bryant. Last season, he blocked his first kick of the season vs. San Francisco (12/23/12) on a 21yard attempt by David Akers that was picked up and returned 90 yards by Richard Sherman for a touchdown, good for the thirdlongest field goal block return in NFL history. It was the first blocked field goal returned for a touchdown by Seattle since Shawn Springs at Green Bay (11/1/99). Bryant set a franchiserecord with two blocked field goal attempts at Cleveland (10/23/11). He added another vs. Washington (11/27/11), as well as blocking a Redskins PAT, the first for Seattle since the 1995 season, becoming the first player in club history to accomplish that feat and first in the NFL since Clevelands Shaun Rogers vs. Cincinnati on October 4, 2009. For Petes Sake

During Bing Training Camp, Pete Carroll articulated his philosophy to the team again and again in meetings. Repetition, as Carroll says, is an important method of learning, so it never hurts to lay out the principles and philosophies of the team another time. Hes now given the same speech many times to these Seahawks but it still carries a freshness to it every time as he goes through the cornerstones of the organization: Philosophy: Its all about the ball You win by taking care of the football, Carroll said. Central theme: Competition Practice is everything, its where we make us, Carroll said. Team rules: Always protect the team; no whining, no complaining, no excuses; be early Style: Great effort, great enthusiasm, great toughness and play smart

Tucked away in the corner of the country, Seattles road trips are some of the longest in the nation. The team strives to offer firstclass amenities and that has not changed this season as Seattle has signed on with Delta Airlines as its 2013 official charter. The Boeing 767 aircraft will carry the Seahawks around the world (a trip around the world is 25,000 miles) as they travel the secondmost miles, 28,238, according to the NFL. Four west coast counterparts, including two NFC West rivals, accompany Seattle in the great blue yonder. 2013 Total Miles Traveled (regular season) San Francisco 32,948 Seattle 28,238 San Diego 26,932 Oakland 26,240 Arizona 20,620

Virginia Mason Athletic Center

The Seattle Seahawks announced the completion of the Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC) as the project was com pleted ontime with the first Seahawks employees staffing the building on August 4, 2008 after spending 22 years in Kirkland. The stateoftheart training facility is located on Lake Washington and is more than 225,000 sq. ft., second largest in the NFL. The site is bounded by Interstate 405 to the east, Lake Washington to the west, residential properties to the north and open land to the south. The building sits on 19waterfront acres, compared to 10 acres in Kirkland. VMAC was designed as a yearround training facility and superior work environment for Seahawks players, coaches and staff. The first class facility features approximately 50,000 sq. ft of training space including: brand new weight and training equipment, 146person auditorium and a locker room with 80 custom lockers. A 30foot training pool is equipped with the ability to video tape the players rehabbing while in the water, allowing for a more effective and efficient workout. VMAC also features a player lounge which will allow play ers to relax in between practices and meetings. The lounge includes a projection television with XBOX, music ports and computers to check email and other web sites. The move was necessary to accommodate growth in sev eral key business segments. The new facility has tripled the floor space and provides increased production capacity. VMAC will allow the organization to work under one roof as the Kirkland front office, Corporate Sponsorships, Suites, Fan Development and the Sounders FC staff housed in Renton. The building is equipped with a permanent indoor practice facility, an amenity that lacked at the Kirkland facility. The prac tice facility is more than 88,000 sq. ft. and 112 ft. high (95 ft. clear). The playing surface is the identical FieldTurf that is used at CenturyLink Field. VMAC will also feature three regulation size outdoor grass fields, and fans will be able to watch the team practice during training camp in 2012. Football Operations and team practices began on Monday, August 18, 2008. Site Facility (acres) Practice Fields
